Here’s my latest client review… wow, making my clients happy makes following my passion sooooo worthwhile! Thank you!

“As my first boudoir photoshoot I had no idea what to expect and was very nervous; but, through Sherry’s emails, texts, and meetings with me I felt at ease and my nervousness quickly turned into excitement. Sherry went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had the location I had envisioned in my head. What I loved the most was that Sherry made sure my photoshoot experience was tailored to fit personality, no cookie-cutter premade sets. My experience with Sherry and the photos were more than what I expected. Sherry is wonderful, accessible, understanding, and easy to get along with and so are all the people she works with (i.e. hair dresser/make-up artist, hotel contacts, assistant, etc.). I would definitely do another shoot with Sherry, just give me the time and place!” :) – Gem

While most of you know that photography is my absolute passion, I also do something else that is super cool. I am an international flight attendant for a major airline and I also contribute some of my travel writing and photography to a travel company in San Diego called Carefree Vacations.

I am a busy girl, needless to say, but I’d like to share a little bit more of myself and have you get to know me a little bit better.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, comments or suggestions!

Here’s a photo of myself and some pretty awesome co-workers our first time in Prague… love that city!

I went behind the camera as “the model” again – this is my intern, Minh’s first time shooting me. What do you think?

ps/ the links won’t work for me, so you will have to cut and paste them into your browser… sorry!

I’m looking for a FEMALE videographer, student or professional, that can film a bachelorette “boudoir” party on June 4 in San Diego. Looking for some editing to be done, and then to upload the video to YouTube. This will be a fun project… more details to come.

Please spread the word. I’m having a hard time finding a FEMALE videographer.

Here’s one of my latest clients… Ms. G — a naturally stunning woman! She booked a room at the Se Hotel in the Gaslamp and got an upgrade (via my connections there…) to a luxe suite — perfect so that we could also shoot her out on the balcony!! Another great shoot!

Want to lose 5 lbs before your photo shoot? Give yourself a date to do it by!

I have the BEST intern in the world!!!! …but she’s graduating from UCSD in a month, and she’s looking for a full time job so she can stay in San Diego! She has a B.A. in Political Science–International Relations with a Minor in English Literature and Visual Arts (Media & Photography). She is seeking a full time administrative position and is extremely punctual, thinks creatively and outside the box, types quickly and accurately, is organized, friendly and professional. Please contact me for a reference as soon as you read this! Sherry

Sexy is an attitude!

Posted: May 1, 2011 in Boudoir

So I’ve obviously confused a few of you — why would I be scouting for an outdoor location for a boudoir shoot? (boudoir means “bedroom” in French)

The thing is, I don’t only shoot boudoir-style sexy photography, nor do I shoot with simulated warehouse sets, nor do I only shoot bachelorette sessions. What I shoot is SEXY. Sexy is an attitude that can take place anywhere.

Initially, I will have a consultation with my you to find out a little bit more about your personality, and then I PERSONALIZE every photo session for to you! So, for instance.

I have a bride who wants to shoot at the Roosevelt in LA for an Old Hollywood glam feel.. this is a somewhat typical on-location boudoir shoot.

My client next week wants to be photographed “pin up style” in a large metal bathtub, but not with a boring white backdrop. Rather, she’d like to be surrounded by flowers in a field. I scouted and found a field that is private.

Another client’s fiance is a huge fly fisherman, and we’ll be shooting her in a river (maybe in Alaska, even!) with waders on and a bikini top.

In my most recent booking, my client doesn’t want to shoot in her bedroom, so she’s going to shoot in mine!

One client wanted to shoot outdoors, but her fiance wasn’t thrilled with her being photographed in lingerie. So we put on her bikini top and had a fantastic photo shoot! Once her fiance saw the images got the concept of what we were doing, he LOVED every photo. And they have booked their engagement session with me.

One local bachelorette party wants to shoot at their parent’s house around a beautiful pool. What a great idea!

My point is, I don’t have to shoot all “bedroom” shots. Sexy is conceptualized differently by each person. I am here to help you find a way to look and feel sexy, no matter what the situation or backdrop. I am open to and will embrace your suggestions and ideas.

Let’s conceptualize your session together! Feel free to tear pictures out of magazines that you like, do a little research on Google to see if you resonate with certain images. Then book your initial consultation with me, and I promise I will get even more excited!

Yesterday I had a fun session photographing Robbie outside on the RR tracks and downtown — what do you think?

If you’ve had a boudoir session with me or just love my photography style, please leave me a nice review on Yelp! thanks a million! XOXO

If you want to see ONE of my photos from MY boudoir photo session, go to my Facebook profile pic. If you can’t find me under “Sherry Martin” look under “Bachelorette Boudoir” or “Sherry Martin Photography.” If you’re not already a “friend,” then it’s time to become one!

And if you book your boudoir session with me, you can see them ALL!! I’ll give you full access! :) I’m going to have them bound in an album so all of my clients can see that I’ve been on the other side of the camera — and it’s not sooo bad! I had a lot of fun during my session, felt absolutely gorgeous the whole time, and damn — that’s me?? I look HOT!

Sherry Martin Photography is getting involved with It’s All About The Kids Foundation.

The fundraising branch of the It’s All About the Kids Foundation is called Partying For a Purpose, and they just had their 8th annual Champagne & Purses Event at Eden in Hillcrest. All of the donated dresses, shoes, jewelry and purses will be given less fortunate teens who are ages 14-18 for their proms.

There will be more Partying for a Purpose events in between, but Sherry is looking forward to OOh La La Party at the Playboy Mansion in August. Ask about more details if you’re interested…

The next person to book a boudoir session with Sherry gets a coupon for 4 pole-dancing classes at Sexy Silhouettes by Sara!

You must go to the “Paypal – Save the Date” link on this blog to book your session and hold your date with Sherry, and then you will be contacted immediately!

Who wants to feel even sexier?

If you didn’t get the Community Magazine (Uptown or Downtown) but you want the deal, please print a copy of my ad from your computer and I will honor it. Your boudoir shoot will be $199 with this ad! Expiration date is June 8, 2011. This means you must have booked and paid for your session by June 8.

It’s getting busy…bikini season, bachelorette season, and wedding season is here!

I just want to remind you to book your date before my calendar fills up!

Here’s what you do:
Email me for date availability: sherry@sherrymartinphotography.com
Once I’ve confirmed that your requested date is available, you’ll then go to the PayPal link to pay and save your date.
You’ll book your hair/makeup artists. I have a few teams of artists, and I will give you their contact information.
You’ll also book your location. If a hotel is your place of choice to shoot, please be sure to ask about how I can get you a discount at the Hard Rock Hotel, The Sofia Hotel or the Se Hotel in downtown.
Need lingerie? I can get you a 15% discount at the Lingerie Lounge. Just ask how!

In the meantime, I’ll confirm your date, and will set up a consultation over the phone or in person with you. And then we shoot!

It’s so much fun, you’ll want to keep shooting! I promise! See you soon!
